On September 19, 2014, Vice President Joe Biden attended a roundtable discussion convened by Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act, which Vice President Biden had successfully championed in Congress. District Attorney Mitch Morrissey participated in the discussion as did some of Denver’s key domestic violence and sexual assault service providers.
Rose Andom was among the invited guests, to share her experience as a survivor and her commitment to help increase access to services. Rose is the lead donor for the Rose Andom Center, which will improve the lives of domestic violence victims by facilitating better access to community and government agencies in a single, safe location.
The event was hosted at SafeHouse Denver’s administrative offices.
