A community leader, group, and cause

Having volunteered with non-profits focused on the issue of domestic violence for more than a decade, Jessica Arett was excited to join the Rose Andom Center’s Young Professionals Council when she moved to Denver in 2017. After helping with a number of the YPC’s events and joining the planning committee for the gala in 2018, she took on a leadership position with the YPC in 2019. With the YPC, Jessica has worked to raise awareness around the work the Center does as well as bring new professionals passionate about the Center’s work onboard to the YPC’s efforts. She has been involved in organizing the YPC’s Share the Love, Fall Photoshoot, and Pride events. In 2020 she joined the board of directors as a the YPC’s representative. Jessica is passionate about the work the center does to provide a safe, cohesive, and welcoming place for clients. She is especially proud of the work the YPC does to raise money for the Sierra Russel Fund, the Center’s fund to provide for the crucial needs of its clients that may not be provided for by any other resource.

The Rose Andom Center’s Young Professionals Council is a hub for diverse, like-minded young professionals working to prevent domestic violence. The YPC supports the Rose Andom Center and its partner agencies by raising awareness, educating the community, volunteering, and fundraising.

The YPC affords young professionals in the Denver area the opportunity to attend educational based social events and to participate in meaningful volunteer opportunities that provide a way to use their professional skills to give back to our community.

Additionally, the YPC is honored that all proceeds from their fundraising efforts go to sustaining and growing the Sierra Russell Fund and directly impacting lives of domestic violence victims.

The Sierra Russell Fund is the Rose Andom Center’s emergency assistance fund. It was established in 2018 in remembrance of board member Sierra Russell. Sierra was a talented and knowledgeable lawyer with Hogan Lovells, a community volunteer, and leader with the Rose Andom Center’s development. Her academic and professional success was exceeded only by her infectious grin, ceaseless generosity, and supportive words of wisdom, which brightened the lives of the many – naming the fund as her legacy was a natural fit. The fund is leveraged when other resources are unavailable or insufficient to help a domestic violence victim with time sensitive and emergency needs.
