Part of the family

Local construction company Milender White played an important role in helping Rose Andom Center clients build dignity by serving as the lead contractor during the facility’s remodel. Milender White planned and executed phased renovations, based on fundraising efforts, to transform the building into an attractive, environmentally efficient, and safe and welcoming facility.

Because taking care of people is of the utmost importance at Milender White, they take the safety and well-being of the communities they develop very seriously. That’s why Milender White built this project at no profit – because they believe in building healthy and responsive places for those in need.

“There are contractors, there are partners and there are those companies that become part of the family,” Mayor Michael B. Hancock said when the building was complete. “Milender White moved from contractor straight to family right away.”

The Rose Andom Center is the ideal setting to address the health and psychosocial needs of women who have experienced violence. Having one community space to access safety and care for domestic violence victims ensures that victims receive full-time, on-site and comprehensive support. We are so appreciative of years of Milender White’s partnership and support of this vision!

“It has been an honor to work alongside the Rose Andom Center. From early design, we had a vision to build a welcoming, safe space for domestic violence victims and their children. Since its opening, over 6,500 victims have accessed Rose Andom Center’s comprehensive services. Milender White is proud to bring these strong individuals a healing environment with hopes other communities strive in developing additional facilities that provide collaborative services,” Darren Hinton, Senior Vice President.
