In January, Linda Loflin Pettit was elected as the new Board Chair of the Rose Andom Center Board of Directors. Loflin Pettit is the Manager of Community and Government Relations in the Denver City Attorney’s Office in the Prosecution and Code Enforcement Section. There, she manages the grant program, provides training on domestic violence and abuse in later life, and coordinates the Denver Forensic Collaborative for At-Risk Adults and the Denver Hoarding Task Force. Loflin Pettit has worked in the field of domestic violence prevention since 1989 working at Family Tree and went on to serve as the Executive Director of AMEND, a batterer intervention and victim service organization, for nearly 10 years.
Linda shared the following words about her new position: “Our past Chair, Maggie Morrissey, did so incredibly much to turn the idea of the Rose Andom Center into a reality and to set us up for success! I’m deeply honored and humbled to follow in her footsteps. I will do my best to help the Rose Andom Center continue to meet the needs of victims, collaborate with our current and potential new partners, and explore new ways to bring healing and hope to those impacted by domestic violence.”
In the words of Executive Director Margaret Abrams: “We are so fortunate to have amazing leadership by the Board of Directors and I’m so pleased to have Linda step in as Board Chair. Linda brings a depth of experience and commitment that will continue the Board’s ability to guide us forward as a strong and thriving organization.”
Our thanks and gratitude to out-going Board Chair Maggie Morrissey and Board Treasurer Karmen Carter. Both will continue on as valued board members. Out-going Board Secretary DoraLee Larson is also stepping down from the board to pursue new adventures after many years of dedication to launching the Rose Andom Center. Thank you for all you’ve done!
