You can #LighttheWorld

This holiday season, giving support to domestic violence survivors and donating to the Rose Andom Center will be as easy as buying a candy bar from a vending machine. Literally.

The #LighttheWorld Giving Machines are coming to Denver for the first time. The Giving Machines are vending machines that, instead of candy, are stocked with items that will help charities throughout December. Visitors pay by credit card or mobile pay, then make their choice – just as they would at a regular vending machine. The difference is that the money paid goes to the Rose Andom Center so they can deliver the item to a person in need. Prices start at $3.00 and top out at $300.

They will be installed at Writer Square, 16th Street between Lawrence and Larimer, and on Monday, December 2 at 10:00am Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock, Rose Andom, and other participants will unwrap the machines. The public is invited!

The Giving Machines will be open after the ceremony and every day from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. through New Year’s Day. Visitors can purchase and donate items ranging from bus passes to lifelong hope and healing for domestic violence survivors in need in Colorado.

Last year Giving Machines in five host cities raised over $2.3 million for 18 charities.

Light the World Giving Machines are sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is covering machine costs, administrative fees and donation overhead.
