Rose Andom Health Center is open and already making a difference

Rose Andom Center is thrilled to announce the opening of the Rose Andom Health Center! This clinic is a partnership between Rose Andom Center, Denver Health and MotherWise funded through a generous two year grant from the Colorado Health Foundation. This ground-breaking program is one of only a handful of family justice centers in the country to include a primary care health clinic as part of comprehensive services offered to victims and their children.

Since opening late this summer, the clinic has already served over 80 patients in a wide range of situations. Esmeralda Arriaga, Medical Assistant, [left] shared that her favorite part of working at the health center so far is seeing patients leave “so grateful.” Franki Behnke, Family Nurse Practitioner [right] and Esmeralda both agreed that they’ve been so touched at the support they’ve received from everyone in the building and are thrilled to be a part of the collaboration at the Rose Andom Center.

The clinic is open to clients of the Rose Andom Center and their children as well as MotherWise participants and their families. This on-site clinic offers care for non-urgent medical concerns, prenatal care, pediatric services, OB/GYN care, forensic documentation regarding abuse related injuries, STI screening, and pregnancy testing. The clinic is currently open: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8am-5pm. Services will be offered full time in November.

Franki has always had a passion for caring for women and children and she said, “when I learned of this position at Rose Andom Center, I was so excited and I knew I could do even more for a population I enjoy taking care of.”

Franki and Esmeralda  are excited to be a part of the collaboration at Rose Andom Center. We are delighted to have them and the rest of the Health Center team on board!
