Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Rose Andom Center has been busy this October spreading the word about domestic violence in our community.

Unidos contra la Violencia Doméstica

Executive Director Margaret Abrams addresses the crowd from the steps of the City and County Building at the Unidos contra la Violencia Doméstica (United Against Domestic Violence) event hosted by the Mexican Consulate on October 19th. Pictured to the left of the podium are Consul General of Mexico Berenice Rendón Talavera, City Councilwoman Jaime Torres, City Councilwoman Deborah Ortega, Latina Safehouse Executive Director Angela Ceseña, and Chief of Police Paul M. Pazen. Rose Andom Center services are available to every survivor, without regard to immigration status, national origin, or language spoken.

Light Up the Town!

Empower Field at Mile High and the Denver City & County Building showed support for survivors by lighting up the town in purple – the color signifying domestic violence.
