A community partner, a community event

Denver Children’s Advocacy Center has been a Rose Andom Center partner since our early planning process. Understanding our commitment to collaboration and providing comprehensive services to families impacted by domestic violence, DCAC has partnered to provide outreach, support and advocacy to non-offending parents and help assess and provide services to their children. DCAC’s mission is to Prevent Abuse, Strengthen Families and Restore Childhood.

DCAC’s programs fall along a continuum of care that includes prevention, early childhood intervention, crisis response, forensic interviews, mental health treatment, and family support services. Children and families access the services they need at any point in the continuum. Through the Rose Andom Center partnership, victims of domestic violence have another avenue of access to services for their child, gain an increased understanding of how exposure to abuse may be impacting their child and supportive intervention to strengthen the family on their path forward.

We encourage you to join our partner DCAC anytime all day on Friday, July 30th in the City Park Pavilions for their community event, Save Jane, where the names will be read of all 11,418 children reported as abused in Denver County last year.

Denver Children’s Advocacy Center is shining a light on this issue and asking for the community’s help. When you hear a person’s name, the reality of their experience becomes more grounded. The challenge we face is that because victims of child abuse are minors, their identities and stories are concealed to protect them. Turning this challenge into inspiration, DCAC is launching the “Save Jane” campaign to illustrate in a thought-provoking and creative way that each John and Jane Doe who experiences child abuse in Colorado spans every race, age, and neighborhood. We invite you to join us as we spread awareness about this critical issue while highlighting Denver Children’s Advocacy Center’s expert response and encouraging our community to join in our work.

If you would like to learn more about this event and volunteer to read names, please connect with Development Director Michelle Davis at 720-974-7231 or mdavis@DenverCAC.org.
