At the Rose Andom Center, our mission has always been to create a haven for hope, healing, and empowerment for survivors of domestic violence. Now, we are taking a vital step forward in that mission by expanding our services to include survivors of sexual assault. Beginning in early 2025, this expansion will enable us to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed support to even more individuals in need.
This transformative initiative is made possible through a collaborative partnership with the Denver Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit and The Blue Bench. Together, we are combining our strengths to ensure survivors have access to holistic care, justice, and healing resources.
Why This Expansion Matters
Sexual assault is a deeply personal and devastating experience that requires specialized care and support. Survivors often face numerous barriers to recovery, including trauma, stigma, and a lack of access to services. By extending our expertise and resources, we aim to address these challenges head-on, offering survivors a safe space to begin their healing journey.
This new program will provide survivors access to:
- Crisis Intervention: Immediate support and guidance to help survivors navigate their next steps.
- Advocacy and Legal Resources: Assistance with legal processes and protection orders in collaboration with DPD’s Sexual Assault Unit.
- Community Referrals and Resources: Connections to ongoing support services, including those provided by The Blue Bench and access to additional partners who provide professional trauma-informed counseling services tailored to the unique needs of survivors of sexual violence.
Partnering for Impact
Our collaboration with The Blue Bench and the Denver Police Department is key to the success of this initiative.
Since 1983, The Blue Bench has been a leader in advocacy, prevention, and care for survivors of sexual assault. Their expertise in delivering specialized support and education will enhance our ability to serve clients compassionately and comprehensively. Over the past four decades, The Blue Bench has impacted nearly 500,000 survivors, loved ones, and community members, and their dedication aligns seamlessly with our vision.
The Denver Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit brings critical resources and expertise to this partnership, ensuring survivors have access to justice and a trusted advocate within the system.
Looking Ahead
As we prepare to launch this program, we are committed to building a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all survivors feel heard, respected, and empowered. This expansion reflects our unwavering dedication to evolving with the needs of our community and ensuring no survivor is left without support.
We invite you to stand with us as we embark on this important new chapter. Together, we can provide hope, healing, and justice for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence alike.
