In June 2016, the Rose Andom Center welcomed its very first clients and officially opened its doors to survivors seeking safety, healing, and hope.

For survivors, this moment represented far more than the opening of a building. It meant walking into a space where they would be believed, supported, and treated with dignity. It meant hearing a compassionate voice instead of navigating another complicated system. It meant no longer having to retell painful experiences over and over while searching for help. For the first time in Colorado, survivors could access multiple services in one safe, welcoming location, surrounded by professionals working together on their behalf. 

With founding Executive Director Margaret Abrams at the helm and a coalition of dedicated partner agencies united under one roof, Colorado’s first Family Justice Center became a reality. What had once been an ambitious vision quickly transformed into a model of collaboration, bringing together law enforcement, victim advocates, legal services, counseling, civil legal assistance, and community resources to provide coordinated, survivor-centered care. Every partnership represented a shared commitment to removing barriers and ensuring that no survivor had to face the journey alone.

From the very beginning, every hallway, office, and conversation reflected a simple but powerful message: you are safe here, you are heard, and you are not alone. Those first days laid the foundation for what has become a decade of hope, resilience, and life-changing support for thousands of survivors and their families.

Today, that same commitment continues because of the generosity of people like you. Your support helps ensure that every person who walks through our doors is met with compassion instead of judgment, answers instead of obstacles, and a community that is ready to stand beside them as they begin rebuilding their lives.

Together, we will honor the visionaries, partners, advocates, donors, and survivors who made the Rose Andom Center possible, while investing in the next decade of safety, healing, and hope for our community.
