Chapter 10: The Next Chapter

Every meaningful journey begins with a vision.

For the Rose Andom Center, that vision was rooted in a simple but powerful belief: survivors of domestic violence deserve a place where they can find safety, compassion, and coordinated support without having to navigate complicated systems alone.

What began as an idea grew into Colorado’s first Family Justice Center, bringing together dedicated professionals, community organizations, and critical resources under one roof. Since opening our doors in 2016, the Rose Andom Center has continued to evolve, responding to the changing needs of survivors and strengthening the partnerships that make our work possible.

As we reflect on the milestones that have shaped our first decade, 2025 represents an important new chapter in our story.

It is a chapter defined by growth, possibility, and a renewed commitment to ensuring that more survivors can access the support they need.

In 2025, the Rose Andom Center continued expanding its vision to more intentionally support survivors of sexual assault, recognizing that survivors of different forms of violence often face similar barriers when seeking safety, healing, and justice.

For someone who has experienced sexual assault, reaching out for help can be an incredibly difficult step. Survivors may be navigating trauma, uncertainty, concerns about their safety, or questions about what resources and options are available to them. They may need advocacy, healthcare, legal assistance, emotional support, or simply a compassionate person who will listen without judgment.

Just as we have worked to reduce barriers for survivors of domestic violence, this next chapter reflects our commitment to creating a more coordinated, accessible, and survivor-centered response for those impacted by sexual assault.

Because every survivor deserves to be heard. Every survivor deserves to be believed. And every survivor deserves access to support that honors their individual needs and choices.

Expanding our services is about more than reaching additional people. It is about recognizing the complexity of survivors’ experiences and continuing to build a community response that meets people where they are.

It means strengthening partnerships with organizations and professionals who bring different areas of expertise to this work. It means continuing to improve coordination so survivors do not have to navigate disconnected systems on their own. And it means ensuring that compassion, dignity, and respect remain at the center of every interaction.

The same collaborative spirit that brought the Rose Andom Center to life nearly a decade ago continues to guide our work today.

When we look back at everything that has happened since our doors first opened, it is remarkable to consider how far this community has come.

We have seen what is possible when organizations choose collaboration over isolation. We have witnessed the importance of bringing services together so survivors can access support more easily. We have expanded programs, strengthened partnerships, adapted during times of uncertainty, and continued learning how to better serve survivors and their families.

But perhaps the most important lesson from our first decade is that hope is not something we create alone.

Hope is built through the dedication of advocates who show up every day ready to listen.

It is strengthened by community partners who share their knowledge, resources, and expertise.

It is made possible by donors and supporters who believe that survivors deserve access to compassionate, comprehensive services.

And it is reflected in the courage and resilience of survivors who continue taking steps toward safety and healing, often in the face of extraordinary challenges.

Every milestone in our history has been shaped by people who believed that our community could do better and were willing to help make that vision a reality.

As we enter our next decade, we carry that same belief forward.

Our work is far from finished. Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault continue to face barriers to accessing services, and the need for coordinated, trauma-informed support remains critical. The challenges facing our community will continue to evolve, and the Rose Andom Center must continue growing and adapting to meet them.

That means looking beyond what we have already accomplished and asking what more is possible.

How can we reach survivors who may not know where to turn?

How can we strengthen the partnerships that make comprehensive care possible?

How can we continue reducing barriers to safety, healing, and long-term stability?

And how can we ensure that the next generation of survivors has access to an even stronger network of support?

These are the questions that will help shape our future.

The next chapter of the Rose Andom Center will be written by the people who choose to stand with survivors today and tomorrow.

Your generosity is an essential part of that future.

Every donation helps sustain the programs, partnerships, and critical resources that survivors rely on. Your support allows us to continue strengthening our services, expanding our reach, and responding to the changing needs of our community.

It is an investment in a future where survivors are met with compassion instead of judgment, support instead of barriers, and hope instead of isolation.

On October 17, we will gather for the Rose Andom Center’s Reflections of Hope 10th Anniversary Gala, a special evening dedicated to celebrating the people, partnerships, and milestones that have shaped our first decade while looking ahead to the future of our mission.

As we close this chapter of our anniversary series, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been part of the Rose Andom Center’s story.

To our founders and early supporters who believed in what was possible, thank you.

To our staff, board members, and community partners who continue carrying this mission forward, thank you.

To our donors, volunteers, and advocates who give their time, resources, and voices in support of survivors, thank you.

And to the survivors whose strength, courage, and experiences continue to guide and inspire our work, thank you for reminding us why this mission matters.

Ten years ago, the Rose Andom Center began with a vision for a better way to support survivors.

Today, that vision continues to grow.

The first decade was about building a foundation of hope. The next decade is about carrying that hope even further.

Together, we can continue creating a community where survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault have access to the safety, resources, and support they deserve.

Thank you for being part of our story and for helping us write what comes next.
