As more survivors turned to the Rose Andom Center for safety, resources, and support, one thing became increasingly clear: growth had to be intentional.

By 2018, the Center was entering a new chapter. What had begun just two years earlier as a bold vision for a more coordinated, compassionate response to domestic violence was becoming an established and trusted resource in our community. More survivors were walking through our doors, more partners were working together under one roof, and the need for coordinated, survivor-centered services continued to grow.

With that growth came an important responsibility.

It was not enough to simply serve more people. We needed to make sure that as the Rose Andom Center grew, the quality of care, collaboration, and compassion that had defined our work from the beginning grew with it.

In 2018, the Center expanded its leadership team, making important investments in program oversight, development, organizational infrastructure, and long-term sustainability. These investments helped create the strong foundation necessary to support an expanding network of services and partnerships while keeping survivors at the center of every decision.

This was not growth for growth’s sake. It was thoughtful, purposeful growth designed to protect what mattered most: quality, consistency, collaboration, and survivor trust.

A strong organization requires strong people behind it. As the Center evolved, so did the team responsible for making our mission possible each day. Leadership helped strengthen programs, deepen relationships with community partners, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the Center could continue responding to the changing and complex needs of survivors.

Because behind every service is a person.

Behind every welcoming conversation is someone who understands the courage it can take to ask for help. Behind every connection to a resource is a team working to reduce barriers. Behind every coordinated response are professionals communicating and collaborating so that survivors do not have to navigate complicated systems on their own.

And behind every moment of hope is a community that believes survivors deserve compassionate, accessible, and comprehensive support.

The growth that took place in 2018 helped ensure that the Rose Andom Center could remain strong and steady while continuing to expand its impact. It was an investment not only in our organization, but in our ability to be there for survivors today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

As we celebrate ten years of the Rose Andom Center, we are reminded that milestones like these were made possible by people who believed in the mission and were willing to invest in its future. Staff, partners, volunteers, donors, and community members each played a role in building an organization capable of growing while remaining grounded in its commitment to survivors.

Your support continues to strengthen the people who show up every day with empathy, expertise, and resolve. It helps ensure that our team and partners have the resources they need to provide thoughtful, coordinated support and that every survivor who reaches out to the Rose Andom Center is met with dignity, compassion, and care.

The decisions made in 2018 helped prepare the Rose Andom Center for everything that would come next. They strengthened our foundation, expanded our capacity, and reinforced a commitment that remains at the heart of our work today: as our community’s needs evolve, we will continue evolving alongside them.
