Sierra Russell Fund

Who We Are

The Sierra Russell Fund is the Rose Andom Center’s emergency assistance fund. It was established in 2018 in remembrance of board member Sierra Russell. Sierra was a talented and knowledgeable lawyer with Hogan Lovells, a community volunteer, and leader with the Rose Andom Center’s development. Her academic and professional success was exceeded only by her infectious grin, ceaseless generosity, and supportive words of wisdom, which brightened the lives of the many – naming the fund as her legacy was a natural fit. The fund is leveraged when other resources are unavailable or  insufficient to help a survivor of intimate partner violence with time sensitive and emergency needs.

The Sierra Russell Fund has provided emergency assistance to hundreds of survivors since its inception. These funds have assisted in securing stable housing by helping with rent, utilities, supplying food, diapers, or transportation when no other resources were available. We have been able to assist with immediate safety concerns for survivors such as securing lock changes, repairing broken windows or doors, accessing emergency cell phones, or replacing identification when needed. These would have been unmet needs without the Sierra Russell Fund, and our ability to help survivors at a critical time has made a world of difference!

The Rose Andom Center’s Young Professionals Council (YPC) is honored that all proceeds from their fundraising efforts will go to sustaining and growing the Sierra Russell Fund and directly impacting lives of domestic violence victims.
